Data Analytics for Toyota Facility Digital Shadow

I worked in a team of five multidisciplinary engineering students to optimise product throughput of a Toyota manufacturing plant in Derby.

I worked on the data and research side of the team. We took past data from different sections of the facility and picked the parts that could be applied to a simulation of their facility to guide decision making for managers of the plant. Details on the numbers and factory items that were used cannot be disclosed for legal reasons.

Many statistical tests were done on a vast number of datasets, both normal and non-normal. Approximations were taken and rendered great results in the following simulation.

The simulation predicted an increase in automobile output of 4% by following the factory setup as described.
